Adopt-a-Book

Your contribution ensures our library will continue to offer a full complement of best-selling books. Library patrons are encouraged to buy a book on display near the adult Circulation Desk. Contributors will receive a charitable tax receipt. You will also have the distinction of being the first to borrow the book. This program provides an opportunity to honour individuals, family members or friends with a commemorative bookplate.

Why does the Library need money to buy books?

Public demand for library material has increased tremendously over the last few years. People are borrowing more and more and they are demanding a greater variety of materials.

Can I donate a book that I have already purchased to this program?

No. This program is set up to handle cash donations. It also allows the Library to maintain some control over the material selection.

Can I donate books to the library?

Yes, we will accept used books in good condition for our book sales. However we are not able to issue tax receipts for these books.

What is the minimum donation for ADOPT-A-BOOK?

The library accepts donations of any amount. Again, however because of the cost of administering the donation, and the price of books, the Library can only issue tax receipts for donations over $10.00. Consider making a contribution along with another friend or colleague.

Your contribution to the ADOPT-A-BOOK Program will help to ensure that a varied collection of quality books is maintained for the educational and recreational use of the whole community.
