Get a Library Card
A Library Card is free to:
- All people who live in the Township of Uxbridge and most communities in Durham Region (proof of residence is required such as a valid driver's license).
- All people who work in the Township of Uxbridge (proof of employment is required such as a pay cheque stub).
- All people who attend school in the Township of Uxbridge (proof of enrollment is required).
Those who do not qualify for a free membership may purchase a library card for $25 per year.
All individuals under the age of 13 or are in Grade 6 or less are required to have a parent or guardian accept responsibility for their borrowing privileges. The signing parent or guardian must be a patron in good standing.
If you are unable to come to the Library with your child to register, please print a copy of our Library Card Registration Form and sign it. Please send this form with your child and a library card will be issued.
Library Users Responsibilities
Changes of address and lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately. Borrowers are responsible for all materials signed out on their cards. Do not lend your card.
All materials may be borrowed by anyone regardless of age. It is the parents responsibility to monitor their child's selection of materials. Parents must accept responsibility for their children's behaviour in the library.
You are responsible for any materials borrowed with your library card. You are also responsible for reporting lost or stolen library cards to library staff as soon as possible.
There is a replacement fee of $2.00 for a lost or damaged library card.
