A Self-Guided Walking Tour of Uxbridge Township Public Library
Welcome to the Uxbridge Public Library. Since its construction in 1887, this building has been one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Township of Uxbridge. The official opening took place on December 9th, 1887. The cost of the finished building was $4,200. Joseph Gould donated the library to the town, but died before the building could be completed. During the opening ceremonies, the Minister of Education announced that this building was the first donation of its kind in the province. He boasted that it was the best library in the province as compared to towns of a similar size. Today, we still believe this is true!!
To explore the library, all you need to do is simply place your cursor over the area of the library you would like to tour, and press your left mouse button. We hope you enjoy your tour.
