Quick FAQ

What is this?

The Teen Summer Reading Group is an online blog, JUST for Uxbridge Teens. It's run by the Uxbridge Public Library. It's just for fun, and a place to write about anything book-related that you want to.

What if I don't want to read 8 books?

That's okay- you can write about ANY books you want to, good or bad, especially ones you think other teens would want to know about. You can read as many or as few as you want of the eight we've picked- keep in mind that if you read none, you won't have a favourite to vote for!

Why would I want to join?

WELL, for starters, we'll be giving away a $50 value prize each week. Mhm, that might be enough to get you to join! But it's also a great way to share your opinion about book related matters. And maybe you'll make new friends-- especially if you're going into high school in the fall and want to know more people! :)

Who can join?

TEENS! The site is for teenagers, so if you're entering grades 8-12 in September 2012, you should join.

Who is running this?

Corrinne and Deanna are our names, and you'll see us posting on the site every once in a while (okay, maybe more often than that). We work at the library, so drop on by and say hi! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email us!

How do I get started?

Click on that button at the top right that says "Sign Up". Fill out the form. Wait for your account to be approved (it will email you once you've been approved). START POSTING! Happy blogging!

I loved the way this book jumped around between Hannah’s (the main character’s) last day of junior high, the summer, and her first day of senior high. This book was full of choices and Hannah seemed to make all of the wrong ones. I started yelling at her! Her life kept getting worse and worse. Read it in one day, and it’s a great read! I definitely recommend it.

What Happened to Goodbye is Sarah Dessen’s latest novel and it is no where near a disappointment. It’s one of those books that you get right into. So much that you start yelling at it. I read it in one day, couldn’t put it down. Mclean, Liz, Lizbet, Eliza, Beth, a.k.a the girl with many names seems so real! I hope Sarah writes another soon!

Wish was a great read. When Olivia’s twin sister, Violet, dies, she wants nothing more than to have her back. She and her sister were very close. Her parents make her move, and they try to start all over again. Olivia is nervous about school. Her sister was always the popular one and so Olivia would hide in her shadow until her Violet’s friends became hers. But then, Olivia is given three wishes… and she uses her first one to bring Violet back. Of course, there is no way to bring back the dead so Violet doesn’t return in the way Olivia thought she would. But, she still has two wishes left, but she must be careful, one bad wish could ruin everything.

I won’t tell you anymore or else there would be no point to you reading the book!!! It is an overall great book.
