Picturing Books: A Web Site About Picture Books
Denise I. Matulka, author of Picture This: Picture Books for Young Adults, has put together a very useful site about different styles of Picture Books. There is also a great resource link to other Children's literature sites.

Reading Matters: Books for Young People
Frequently updated book review site featuring family-oriented fiction for children and teens. Noteworthy for its user-friendly navigation, reviews are indexed by author and by title, with a "bookchooser" that asks readers a series of questions, then recommends novels based on the answers.

The Romance Reader
There are thousand of reviews of romance titles and their authors.

SparkNotes Study Guides
From Barnes and Noble, these free study aids written for students by Harvard students and graduates specializing in different topics. There are now over 1.6 million SparkNotes literature guides are in print covering subjects from the Classics, Biographies, History, Philosophy, the Sciences, Economics and more. Check out useful the Reference Tools too.

Special Lists and Features for Youth
Links to the American Library Association (ALA) list of "interviews, articles on topics of interest to youth librarians, essays by children's book authors, bibliographies, Top 10 genre lists and Read-alikes book suggestions are also part of the Books for Youth section".

Stellar Awards
The Stellar Award is B.C.'s new Teen Readers' Choice Award. From November to April, teens can read, review, discuss and rank their favourite nominees.

Teen Books and Reading
From the Mercer County, New Jersey website with links to great lists for teens with links to mysteries, fantasy, comics, sports, survival, historical fiction, horror books.

Teen Issues and Challenges
Check out the bibliographies on issues such as Drinking and Driving Bibliography for Teens in Grades 9-12, Divorce Bibliography for Kids in Grades 3-6. There is also information on issues related to Relationship Violence as well as War and Conflict. These lists have been created by Dr. Jami, a former director of two public libraries in the United States. She is currently a a school library media specialist at Barron Collier High School in Naples, Florida and an adjunct instructor of educational media at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.

Teen Reading
The annual Teen Read Week (USA) in October has now lead to a Teen Reading webpage providing a focal point for year-round efforts to get older kids involved in reading outside the classroom. Organized by The Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association.

Reviews of books for young adults, profiles of popular authors, and a forum in which to discuss it all.

Teens@Amazon.com.
Lists the latest books and audio recommendations for teens from Amazon.com's expert editors and celebrated authors. The titles are divided by subject and includes links to the Teens Essential Bookshelf.

Viewpoint: on Books for Young Adults
Quarterly publication that deals with young adult fiction bringing together writers and readers of this genre. Part of the University of Melbourne Australia and has excellent links to Australian young adult writers and other children's literature sites worldwide.

Waterboro Public Library's Booklists for Young Adults
From the Waterboro, Maine, Public Library, this site provides an annotated directory of online library-created booklists for Young Adults. Also links to Children's and Adult booklists sites created by the Library.

What Comes Next: Children's & Teen Fiction Series
Burnaby Public Library has created this PDF site of Children's and Teen Fiction Series. You can search by author, series title or book title but does not include uncatalogued paperback series.

YA Books in Series and Sequels
Need to find the next book in the series you're reading? This page lists titles of series for teens arranged by series title and by author. This site is mantained by Maria Levetzow of the Bettendorf Public Library.

YALSA Teen Booklists and Book Awards
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA)'s annual lists of the best books and other media for Young Adults.

Young Adult Books By or About Native Americans
Reviews of several fiction and non-fiction books about Native Americans. This is not necessarily a recommended reading list, as the site includes good and bad reviews.

Young Adult Literature : Secondary English-Language Arts
Provides a multitude of literature related links to support the curriculum in English and Language Arts for K-12 educators from YA Authors, Reluctant Readers, YA Bibliographies and Critical Reviews sites plus many more. Part of the Internet School Library Media Center.

Young Reader's Choice Awards (YRCA)
Established in 1940 to promote reading for enjoyment. Chosen by the children and young adults of Alberta, Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington, from books published 3 years previously, and nominated by librarians, teachers, students and others. There is an Intermediate Division for Grades 7 to 9 & a Senior Division for Grades 10 to 12.
