Joy Delamere is a teenage girl with major asthma problems. Her family is constantly watching over her, and her mother has gone so far as to put a tracking device in her daughter’s cell phone. When Joy’s main “protector” Jesse, her older brother, goes away, her parents are thrilled to let Asher take over the role. Joy met Asher at an event at the local zoo. She immediately falls in love with his subtle and dangerous personality. But as their relationship progresses, Joy can’t take his power over her. She runs away, and meets up with some homeless teens and joins their family. Disguised as a girl name Triste, she begins her new life. This was a really good book, I couldn’t put it down.
Comments? This is a true, touching story about the daughters of Tsar Nicholas the second, the grand duchesses that live a life of riches and royalty. Olga the oldest is headstrong; Tatiana the tallest; Maria, the most hopeful for a ring and someday children and Anastasia, the smallest and the funniest. They are young women when there father gives up his crown because of World War 1 and a mutiny starts against the family. They are taken away to safe houses with most of their belongings and must live a life so different from what they have known. These girls are forced to grow up fast as hardship after hardship happens. As the war ignites across Europe, political unrest sweeps Russia and it is a time of mutiny, deceit, disorder and revolution. This is one story told in four ways, in four different views on how this affected their lives and so many others. How when bad times come the only people we can trust and count on are our closest friends and family to help us through. Will Tatiana, Olga, Maria and Anastasia be able to stay strong and stay together and hopefully return to a life they want and need or will World War 1 tear apart their family and their beautiful country. You have to read to find out!!!
Comments? This book is about a girl named Macy. She and her mom are currently grieving over the death of Macy’s dad. Her older sister Caroline has always been the risk-taking daughter, but Macy prefers to just live her ‘fine just fine’ life on a perfect schedule. She plans to spend her summer filling in for her boyfriend, Jason, (who is said to be perfect) at his boring job at the library, and studying. But her summer doesn’t go quite as planned when Jason suggests a ‘pause’ in their relationship- just because she says she loves him (they’ve been dating for like 2 years!)- and Macy finds another job at Wish catering company who served at one of her moms real estate cocktail parties. She ends up with a whole new group of friends, who do not pass her moms approval, and starts to not worry so much about her perfect life and begins to admit to her grieving. When she starts spending lots of time with her ‘friend’ Wes, she begins to wonder if she really wants Jason back, or if there’s someone new she’s starting to like.
1 Comment*If you had to chose between life, and death. Would you? If I Stay is a very moving, and interesting story. It is roughly 230 pages, and is very poignant. I really enjoyed it and thought it was very touching. I highly recommend it for anybody who may be a little down, because it shows you how great life can be to you. I really loved this book. And think that this is one of the most heartfelt books out there. Loved it.

It is the perfect opportunity for her to start over and become a new person. Comments? This book is about a girl named Liesel who lives during the World War II. She lives in Nazi Germany with her foster parents. Her story is narrated by Death. Liesel loves books and her foster Papa teaches her to read every night. Papa and Liesl have a special connection and he teaches her the consequences of disobeying Hitlers commands. Liesel and her friend Rudy discover that they may need to go to desperate measures to survive. When they take in a Jew, whose father saved Liesels Papa in the war, they face many troubles and Liesel is forced to leave him behind during the bombings. This is a fantastic book that is very sad but really opens you up to the kind of things not only Jews went through but also what Germans went through in the World War II.
